LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers 2016

The prestigious luxury group LVMH has just annouced the third edition of its prize for young fashion designers. The competition sees young designers from around the world trying to be among the 30 selected by a panel of prestigious fashion experts, comprised mainly of creative directors from LVMH Houses.

“The LVMH Prize aims to support young fashion designers. This sponsorship initiative reflects the values of our Group: our designers single out the talent of tomorrow, and they are rewarded and supported through the development of their House. Our ambition is to nurture the vitality and creativity of the fashion world at the international level. As a leader in our sector, it is our responsibility to discover young talents and help them to develop,” explains Delphine Arnault, Executive Vice-President of Louis Vuitton.

The winner receives a 300,000-euro grant and mentoring from a special LVMH team. The Prize also spotlights future talents by inviting three fashion school graduates to work as part of the design team at an LVMH brand for one year.

Young designers must  apply online until February 7 . The competition is open to designers under 40 who have already shown two ready-to-wear collections.

This year the jury members include eight creative directors of LVMH Houses: Jonathan Anderson (Loewe), Nicolas Ghesquière (Louis Vuitton), Marc Jacobs (Marc Jacobs), Karl Lagerfeld (Fendi), Humberto Leon and Carol Lim (Kenzo), Phoebe Philo (Céline) and Riccardo Tisci (Givenchy). They are joined by Delphine Arnault (Executive Vice President of Louis Vuitton), Jean-Paul Claverie (Advisor to Bernard Arnault and Director of LVMH Corporate Philanthropy) and Pierre-Yves Roussel (Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the LVMH Fashion Group).
