Prince - The Genious

A friend of mine, who is a classical musician, told me, about 10 years ago, that Prince was the most incredible multifaceted pop musician: Prince  writes, composes and produces all his songs. Also plays all the instruments on his albums. Many critics praised his work for its versatility composing, playing, singing and dancing.  He was a Genious, who called himself "The Artist", which he was indeed...

His music mixes various musical genres such as funk, R & B, soul, new wave, jazz, rock, pop and hip hop. He was considered the 33th best guitarist of all time by US magazine Rolling Stone.

Prince had a reputation for being a workaholic, is working on his songs or producing other artists to the point of leaving much new material in the drawer. Considered a perfectionist, I had the image of a difficult person to work with and to be highly protective of his music.

Prince also had a love for fashion, attending fashion shows a presenting his very own particular style. Here you have some of his looks:

Prince attended the Chanel Pret a Porter show as part of the Paris Womenswear Fashion Week at the Grand Palais

Prince at the Versace for H&M fashion show

The day Prince performs for Matthew Williamson Catwalk. Joining him at the event was Kate Moss, Quentin Tarantino, Liz Hurley and designer John Galliano.

From his dancing curls to his high-stacked heels, the legend influenced Versace, Justin Bieber and Matthew Williamson.

Go ROCK in Heaven, Prince! RIP

Is Karl Lagarfeld leaving Chanel?

Where is everyone going?  Raf Simons leaving Dior, or Hedi Slimane departing Saint Laurent, or even Alber Elbaz exiting Lanvin, this would unequivocally be the most significant "musical chairs" rocking the fashion industry in the last year. According to Page Six, the 82-year-old Karl Lagerfeld might leave his longtime post at Chanel (Lagerfeld has been at the helm of Chanel since 1983) after the brand's upcoming resort show in Cuba.
So who will be sitting in which Trone?
Of course, the rumor mill has churned out this particular piece of gossip before. In 2009 and then again in 2010, Lagerfeld was said to be retiring, with Elbaz coming in as his replacement. (Of the 2009 iteration of that rumor, Cathy Horyn wrote in the New York Times, "Mr. Lagerfeld said to forget about it. He was going to die with his boots on.") Lagerfeld has been creative director of Chanel for 33 years. But some other whisperings say that  that Hedi Slimane is set to replace the Kaiser at Chanel...
But, in 2012, he told Vogue TV "Why should I stop working? If I do, I'll die and it'll all be finished."
Let´s take a deep breath and wait...next month’s Resort show in Cuba could very well be Lagerfeld’s runway swan song. And if so, he will leave a(nother) huge mark in Chanel (and Fashion) history, by performing a show in Cuba; the first one!
